On behalf of the management I take great pleasure to inform all members & homeowners that Rancamaya Golf and Country Club have been judged “ The Best Golf Club in South East Asia “ This was announced at the “ HAPA “ award ceremony in Kuala Lumpur at the J.W . Marriot Hotel , November 28, 2008 .

Hospitality Asia Platinum Award, “ Hapa “, is one of the leading Hospitality & Travel magazines in Asia and is distributed to industry professionals within Malaysia , Singapore , Thailand , Indonesia and Vietnam . Hospitality Asia is also available for browsing at various reading loungers all over South East Asia .

Hospitality Asia is catering quality barometer for the upper segment of various Hospitality establishments such as Golf Clubs, Luxury , Business , and Signature Hotels . As well as Luxury Resorts , Spa ‘s , Villas and Signature Residents

Henny & Julie our membership & marketing team attended the festivity and brought back the trophy . The award was based on several “ Mystery Shoppers “ who visited the Club several times from May to September this year . Important to note is, the award was not given to one particular segment of the Club , but more importantly it was for its services , way of conduct of the employees , maintenance and quality in its entirety. Rancamaya was competing with many established Clubs in Indonesia and other Clubs in South East Asia . For more details , please refer to the enclosed listing of Clubs which were chosen for the final selection process .

As you may know early this year during the last raining season we received so much rain that the course (greens and fairways) could not cope with that much water. This resulted that the course was extremely soggy and wet for about two (2) months and two of our greens where severely damaged .

what we have done since April 2008

• Build a 1500 sq m “Ever green nursery below the driving range. This is enough to replace up to three (3) greens if we should experience the same as we did early this year.

• Management has several meetings with foreign superintendents and we choose to change partly some of our chemicals to “Floratine” This kind of chemical suppose prevent or at least lessen significantly the damage of heavy rain fall towards the greens and as the fertilizer is liquid it should be faster and more effective than the one we use now . Similar if one takes an injection as oppose to a tablet.

• Extend the current nursery on hole number thirteen 13 with about 1500 sq m of fairway 419.

• Cut more trees around some of the greens to enable the wind and sunlight to take hold of the greens.

• Added additional drainage for fairways number 2/4/8/11/ 12/ and 13

• We will increase the aeration, use solid tines and use a penetrate wetting agent so the water moves through the profile quicker.

• Greens that have no run off we will install run off areas so the water runs off the greens naturally. This will lessen the water impact to the greens by a large extend.
